Laureen Marchand is a practicing artist who lives and works in Saskatoon. She has exhibited widely across western Canada; her paintings have been recognized by the Saskatchewan Arts Board and the Canada Council and are held in many public and private collections. Recent major solo exhibitions include Last Rose and Others (2007) and Gathered Roses (2005). Bequest, with Honor Kever, toured western Canada from 2001 to 2003. Laureen is represented in Canada by the McIntyre Gallery, Regina and in Ireland by the Stronach Gallery, Fermoyle Lodge, Costello, Connemara, Co. Galway. She is also a founding tutor and director of the Ballynakill Artists School at Rosleague Manor Hotel, Letterfrack, Co. Galway, Ireland.
Laureen Marchand has been a Board member of CARFAC National, CARFAC Saskatchewan, and the Canadian Copyright Licensing Agency, and was a founding member of the Canadian Artists Representation Copyright Collective (CARCC). She has researched, written, and edited the Saskatchewan Visual Arts Handbook regularly since 1988. In 2006-07 she produced a Visual Arts enhancement to The Art of Managing Your Career for Canadian Human Resources Council. In 2008-09 Laureen is involved as writer with CARFAC Saskatchewan’s Visual Arts Sector Best Practices Development Project.
