Born in Saint-André-Avellin in the Outaouais region in 1950, Yves Louis–Seize lives and works in Montreal where he received his Master’s degree in Visual Arts from the Université du Québec à Montréal in 1989. Since 1975, he has been sharing his time between teaching and creating works of art. His work has been featured in many exhibits throughout Quebec. In twenty years, he has created seventeen public works and his most recent one is at the Canadian Embassy at Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He regularly contributes as a jury member for various grant and exhibition programs. His work is featured in public collections in many institutions. He was also co-founder of the Centre d’exposition Expression in St-Hyacinthe and the Centre d’artiste CIRCAin Montreal. Mr. Louis-Seize served as president of RAAV from 2005 to 2007.
