Press Release: CARFAC Announces Panelists for Draw More Income in Montreal

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HALIFAX- May 31 2016- CARFAC National is thrilled to announce that four renowned artists will be speaking as featured panelist at “Draw More Income” in Montreal on June 4th 2016. This pan Canadian panel will boldly address the reality and sustainability of visual artists’ incomes in Canada.

Hailing from diverse regions and backgrounds, Theresie Tungilik (Nunavut), Collin Zipp (Manitoba), Melissa Mongiat (Quebec) and Moridgja Kitenge Banza (Quebec) have worked through innovative and culturally specific practices in order to flourish as creators.

“We are honoured to host such extraordinary artists for our “Draw More Income” panel.”, commented Susan Tooke, National Spokesperson and President of the CARFAC Board of Directors from Halifax today. “As an artist driven national organization that fights for the rights of artists, we want to ask ourselves: how do we succeed in making money? What do we need to make more money? We want to invite all visual artists to imagine what kind of practice you would have if only you had the money.”

CARFAC will be bringing this campaign to major cities across Canada in collaboration with provincial affiliates. We invite all interested artists, art advocates and media representatives to attend these events.
