CARFAC and RAAV are making several significant changes to our Minimum Recommended Fee Schedule as part of our efforts to improve artists’ working conditions. The changes reflect the recommendations that were made through our consultations with media arts and performance art communities, as well as our ongoing reflections on the effectiveness and impact of our Fee Schedule as it is currently written.
A proposal with various changes was presented to the members of CARFAC for a vote at our AGM on Saturday, September 28, 2019. The changes were approved and they will be in effect on January 1, 2020 for a period of four years, with a 2% annual increase in each year.
As you know, the CARFAC-RAAV Fee Schedule was previously located at www.carcc.ca, the former website of Copyright Visual Arts (CARCC). Copyright Visual Arts has a new website (www.cova-daav.ca) and its own guidelines for royalties, and they negotiate them directly with presenters on behalf of their affiliated members.
Therefore, we have found a new home for our Fee Schedule: www.carfac-raav.ca. Please adjust your bookmarks and web links accordingly.
