Advisory Note: Considerations and Minimum Fees for Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and Helpers in the Visual Arts Sector

The Indigenous Protocols Collective, born of indigenousprotocols.art, is pleased to officially announce the launch of "Advisory Note: Considerations and Minimum Fees for Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and Helpers in the Visual Arts Sector." 

You are invited to join us at our upcoming webinar on Wednesday, July 29th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM EST. Questions from Indigenous folks will be prioritized in the name of transparency and community reciprocity. Elders, Knowledge Keepers, Indigenous Artists are highly encouraged to attend to receive guidance on how to utilize this Advisory Note. Artists, Arts Administrators, as well as Visual Arts Institutions, Organizations and Boards, working in the sector are highly encouraged to attend. 

This is an Advisory Note developed in collaboration with CARFAC National and the Indigenous Editors Association to recommend minimum rates and best practices for compensating Elders, Knowledge Keepers and their Helpers who share their time, knowledge, and cultural guidance in the Visual Arts sector.

Larissa Desrosiers, Programs Director for CARFAC National, will be leading the webinar as she was the project manager for the Advisory Note. We are pleased to announce that Danielle Printup will be our featured speaker as she was an interviewee for the Advisory Note guidance. She has experience working with Elders and Knowledge Keepers in the Visual Arts sector.
