New streamlined process for your Fee Schedule questions
We receive many requests for assistance regarding the CARFAC-RAAV Minimum Recommended Fee Schedule every month. In order to streamline this process, we have developed a Fee Schedule Intake Form, which allows space for the information we need to answer your questions.
Letter of Support for the CMA Indigenous Council’s Call Regarding the HBC Collection

What Canadian artists need to know about US tariffs
The economic impact of a trade war with the United States is a concern for all Canadian residents. This is certainly true for artists who rely on sales in the US market, as well as those who import substantial quantities of American goods to make art. When tariffs are imposed on either side of the border, the rising costs of the production and export of art puts artists in a vulnerable position. Staying on top of changes to export rules can be frustrating and stressful. With this in mind, we’ve compiled some resources to help you navigate this challenging environment.
Canadian Visual Artists celebrate long-awaited support from Federal Government in 2024 Fall Economic Statement
OTTAWA, December 17, 2024 – Visual artists from coast to coast to coast have waited a long time for Canada to legislate the Artist’s Resale Right (ARR) for Canadian artists. Their representative organizations, Canadian Artists’ Representation (CARFAC), Regroupement des artistes en arts visuels du Québec (RAAV), and Copyright Visual Arts (COVA-DAAV), who together represent over 6,000 artists across the country, thank the Canadian Government, and especially the Ministers of Finance, Canadian Heritage, and Innovation, Science and Industry for acknowledging this important economic right for visual artists and including it in the 2024 Fall Economic Statement
Supporting Artists’ Rights to Advocate for Justice
Like the majority of Canadians, the Board of Directors of CARFAC National is devastated by the violence and destruction that continues in Gaza, and by the proliferation of that violence as it manifests in anti-Palestinian and antisemitic discrimination committed in communities across Canada, and around the world.

CARFAC-RAAV’s submission for the 2025 Federal Budget Consultation
On August 2rd, CARFAC submitted a brief as part of the upcoming Federal Budget 2025 consultations. Our submission was a collaborative effort in partnership with Quebec artist association, RAAV.
Imprimo Closure
We regret to announce the shutdown of Imprimo, effective September 1st, 2024. Despite a dedicated community of artists, Imprimo couldn’t gain the traction needed to continue. This decision deeply affects CARFAC members who have invested significant time in building artist profiles and artwork records
